How to Scrap My Car

Looking to scrap your old or damaged car, but don’t know how? Don’t worry, we’re here to help you.

When should I scrap my car?

Getting rid of your old car can be a sad and overwhelming process and as you watch the years tick by on your old banger, you may be wondering when you should make the tough decision to sell or scrap.

For most customers, the time to scrap their vehicle will be a result of the car’s age, mileage or when the cost of fixing the car becomes more than it is worth.

However, there are exceptions to this rule if your car is a rare classic or a collectible. Its value could actually end up appreciating over time, therefore it could be a much better investment for you to keep it safe until you are ready to sell.

How to scrap my car?

Scrapping your car is now much easier than it was 10-20 years ago. Simply type in “scrap my car” online and you’ll find a variety of different companies who will be more than happy to pay you for your vehicle and arrange scrapping for you.

Is there an alternative to scrapping my car?

Yes, most customers will choose to scrap their old, damaged or high mileage cars because there is a lack of options elsewhere. This is where we come into the mix. At Cash For Cars we specialise in buying these car types and our straightforward process ensures that we take the stress out of selling your troubled car.

You simply type in your details to our instant online quotation system, and we’ll provide you with a total value for your vehicle (and there are no hidden fees, so what we say is what you get). If you are happy with the quote provided, we will arrange to pick your vehicle up free of charge, or you can drop it off at one of our 5 partner yards if that is more convenient for you.
